Great but...

Your app needs yosemite and portuguese support

Really BAD UI

The app requires a learning curve. The interface is not easy to use, and you have to guess what the icons mean… plus, I didn’t find a way to register my incomes… it only tracks your expenses. I would like to have a refund.

Junk

Do not waste your money on this.

What WJFRaser said…

…not worth it—unpolished UI(s), unintuitive etc.

It Is Like Groping In The Dark

No discernable way to delete an added expenses No way to customize this Icons without any helpful tooltips and even then, you have to hunt for them. Was it assumed that anyone using this will be prescient enough to know each of these? Lacks intuitiveness Good Heavens! Was this designed by a 12 year old?

Not very useful

I bought this to have the convenience of reviewing my expenses on my Mac but honestly the interface is very poor, I much prefer to use the iPad app. The only good thing about the Mac app is the export option.

Almost there!

As an exchange student, I was looking for a simple app to replace my ugly and difficult to update (from my phone) GDocs sheet with all my expenses: Next does (just) everything I need and adding expenses is extremely easy thanks to the minmalistic UI of the iPhone app. I also bought the mac app to better keep track of everything and this one I found is a little bit too simplistic, in particular there are two features that I’d like to see implemented: 1-A week view as in the iPhone app 2-An easy to edit integration of current funds to keep track of how much is left that automatically subtracts the added expenses Overall the app, which is relatively new, has a lot of potential and it has a gorgeous UI which makes it very easy to add and categorise expenses :)

A must-have

Next is one of my most used apps on iOS and I’m glad to finally have it on my Mac, too. The interface isn’t perfect and could do with a bit of tweaking but it’ll do just fine for now. Get it on all your devices.

Simple, Elegant, Useful… Awesome

This is the first expense tracking and budgeting program for iPad and iPhone which I’ve found truly useful. The interface is simple and easy to use. There isn’t any setting for iCloud- it’s automatically enabled across all devices you happen to own. The only budgeting tool is a chart of expenses and the ability to categorize them- there are no tools in this app for setting a predicted budget. The developer offers another app for budgets- but honestly I don’t think those tools are as necessary with the ease of expense reporting offered here. Great job guys and thanks!

Super-simple app !!! The job is done !!

Simply , the app will track your expenses daily and monthly (based on a calendar view). Thats it!!. Wishing for more features.

Great, except three major things.

The good: The interface on the app is beautiful. It is also simple and intuitive. It also has the Apple simplicity to it. But, The Bad: 1. It crashes anytime you do more than three or four functions on it. When trying to customize the logos, I can get three done and it crashes. 2. No budget capabilities. It will darken when you spend a lot of money on a particular day, but it would be helpful if you could set your limit on a particular item for the month/week/or day and then the logo would turn red when you’ve exceeded your budget. 3. The logos are helpful, but if you are going to go across the family it would be nice to place a description of your choice—for example, there is a school one and a book one. I would like to emphasize that there are some books I purchase for school and some that are personal. I know my intent, but if my wife inputs the receipts I give to her, it is not very easy. This would also apply at work if you use it to track expenses—a secretary or assistant would be best aided if there were descriptions listed. Otherwise, the interface and everything are nice and for the rudimentary function of tracking where your money is spent, it works rather nicely but for these three things.

Okay, But Could Be Great.

This app is simple. This app is good looking… for the most part. This app works. This app… won’t let me change the preferences? Aside from that, I find it peculiar that there is a combination used to delete entries instead of just the ‘delete’ key. Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve grown accustomed to just tapping the ‘delete’ key to delete things. That’s really nitpicking, though. The visuals, in general, are so-so. Given I’m experiencing this on a NON-retina MacBook Pro, but I do notice that some of the text appears muddy where it shouldn’t (the category selectors, for example), and the color scheme is perhaps a little too close to iOS7 when it comes to borrowed design cues. I don’t expect this app to become the ultimate budgeting app (although I can dream, can’t I?), and for the moment it’ll do fine in helping me keep track of my day to day expenses. I do hope a little more time and care is put into refining it in the future though. A decent rating is in order.

Bummer ...

It’s helpful to know that the only thing that this app does is track your spending. It doesn’t help you keep track of how much money you have and it doesn’t have any features with budgeting. Bummer, I like the idea of this app a lot. But it’s not worth spending the money.

Dont sync

Dont sync with my phone.

Excellent-Does what it says it will do and does it very well.

I have been using this app for the past 3 months after trying several other monthly expense tracking apps. This app. allows me to record every expense via my iPhone and have the info show up on my MBP within momments. On the MBP I can easily add expenses for dates that I missed doing on the iPhone and use the bigger screen to easily compare one month to another. I leave the app always open on my iPhone with no problems, thus making it easy to add a purchase whenever they occur. A feature request that I would very much like to see would be to have it keep track of spending vs. a monthly income goal that could be entered each month or repeated for “x” number of months. I am very happy with this app. and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to keep track of their monthly spending.

Using it with Excel for a Full Budget Solution

Using Next’s simple input and an Excel spreadsheet linked to the export file I’m able to track my expenses easiliy and keep up with balances as well. if you use: =-SUMIFS([Untitled.xls]Sheet1!$E$6:$E$1000,[Untitled.xls]Sheet1!$B$6:$B$1000,”=??”) where ?? is the category number you want tracked, every expense in that category will appear in that cell. or more advanced, you can use something like the following to select transactions that appear within a certain date range (I do so because I get paid biweekly, and want to break expenses down like that): =-SUMIFS([Untitled.xls]Sheet1!$E$6:$E$1000,[Untitled.xls]Sheet1!$B$6:$B$1000,”=??",[Untitled.xls]Sheet1!$D$6:$D$1000,">=" &D$1+1462,[Untitled.xls]Sheet1!$D$6:$D$1000,"<=" &F$1+1462) and finally you can even set it up to check if the transaction has taken place yet or not (if you enter transactions early): =IF(TODAY()>=D$1,(-SUMIFS([Untitled.xls]Sheet1!$E$6:$E$1000,[Untitled.xls]Sheet1!$B$6:$B$1000,”=??",[Untitled.xls]Sheet1!$D$6:$D$1000,">=" &D$1+1462,[Untitled.xls]Sheet1!$D$6:$D$1000,"<=" &F$1+1462)),0) a little bit of work to tweek it, but well worth it.

Not user friendly

I was really looking for simple, and this product couldn’t be simplier, except when customize disappeared, putting my spending into categories, everything just disappeared. Not going to put anymore time into.

Does not sync with iCloud…

The expenses entered in my phone does not appear at all...

Skip the mac version.

I’m an avid user of Next for iPhone; it makes tracking my daily expenses quick and efficient. I was hoping that the mac version would let me consolidate that data on my computer, so that I could further plan and budget. However, despite claims to the contrary, iCloud sync simply does not work. All you get is a green light that says ‘iCloud is available’. Since it won’t sync with your phone, this seems like a waste of money. I wish I had my $6 back...

Works great!

I have never really wanted an application that links up to my bank account, I don’t see it’s usefulness relative to stress inducing properties it is bound to have. The app works, scrolls, and does all kinds of things beautifully.
